My plan is to start a Business/ Engineering fraternity mainly open to those choosing that as their major. I know this is going to be a lot of work but right now I have a lot of support from different guys around me. Also, I know that if this does get started, we will need a place to live, so housing is another big concern of mine. I mean how do you feel though, think I'll actually do it?
To me this is an opportunity to show a new identity for students on this campus and to do something new. Go outside the realm of every other student here and be the founder of something new. I know it's going to be a lot of work, but hey, anything is possible right?
As for now I'm just setting up a few meetings and feeling my way through the beginning stages, wish me luck I guess and I will be sure to inform you of something new as soon as I find out myself

If this is something that you're very passionate about, then go ahead and try it. Something to consider that may make your foundation easier is that the current professional fraternities such as the DSP do not have a house themselves and therefore shows that it’s not required. Obviously, what determines the success of the fraternity is your effort and your resources. It’s not going to magically happen over night if you wait for it to grow, as I’ve painfully found out with certain projects growing up and that I’m currently working on. However, it seems like support from SMU would go a long way in helping you achieve your goals. While speaking about goals, what are your goals with this? What are you trying to achieve? Is this going to help people? How and in what ways? From what it sounds like, you’re taking on a big responsibility, and I wish you luck.
